Meet the Founders - Matt Anastassiou

This is Matt Annastassiou...

Matt grew up in Melbourne, and has lived in Perth since 2015. Matt studied Chemical Engineering and is currently mid way through a Masters in Data Science. This experience has seen Matt work in the Marine, Oil and Gas, and Business Consultant industries. During this time Matt has lived and worked in Vietnam building a chemical transport/supply vessel for 6+ months, Canada working as a consultant for a mining company for 12 months, and FIFO to the salt lakes in the Pilbara for close to a year.

Like both himself and Matt Gardiner, Matt Annastassiou had no prior distilling experience before starting Haiver except a passion for good alcohol. That passion for good alcohol extends to Swan Draught and VB's on a hot Perth summer's afternoon. Beauty really is in the eye of the beholder... But it's that happiness and enjoyment you can get from drinking with friends that made Matt want to start his own distillery and create that experience for others.

Matt has a British bulldog called Bubba, a love for Champagne and oysters, dirty house music and the outdoors (which includes hiking, riding the Mundabindi Trail, raising hybrid/frankenstein tomatoes and carrots, the beach, and being on the water.) Matt's role at the distillery includes business acumen, finance, all things admin/legislation/compliance, logistics and production. All round Haiver super hero!

We asked him a few questions to find out who he really is...
